Warehouse Floor Resurfacing Frome
We deliver warehouse floor resurfacing and industrial overlay systems throughout Frome and the surrounding Somerset and Wiltshire border area. Worn or uneven concrete slabs are refurbished using bonded self levelling compounds, polymer modified cementitious overlays and resin finishes, specified to suit warehouse, logistics and production environments.
20 +
Years
Experience in Concrete Flooring
Our Frome resurfacing teams work across Marston Trading Estate, Commerce Park, Vallis Trading Estate and surrounding industrial areas, supporting warehouses, trade units and light manufacturing. Each project is planned around condition survey findings, surface preparation and overlay selection so that the finished floor offers reliable performance for forklifts, pallet trucks and other materials handling equipment.
Our Expertise
Our Process
STEP 1
Works start with a structured survey of the existing concrete slab. We review cracking, joint breakdown, impact damage around racking legs, historic patch repairs and wear from forklift wheel paths, which are common in long serving units on Marston Trading Estate and Vallis Trading Estate. Defective areas are broken out and reinstated and joints are reinstated where needed. The surface is then mechanically prepared by grinding, shot blasting and diamond tooling to remove laitance, coatings and contamination and to achieve a consistent profile for the warehouse floor resurfacing system.
STEP 2
After preparation, we install the chosen industrial floor overlay. This may be a polymer modified cementitious topping, a cement based self levelling system or a resin finish, selected around expected loads, internal climate, traffic and cleaning regime. Thickness and flow are controlled to remove local undulations, improve regularity across racking aisles and picking zones and refine falls where drainage is required. The result is a smooth, durable surface that supports efficient materials handling in Frome warehouses, trade units and production spaces.
STEP 3
Once the overlay is installed, it is cured in line with manufacturer guidance and the agreed programme. On suitable schemes, fast track systems can allow controlled foot traffic or light MHE in 24 to 48 hours, with heavier forklift loading and full racking occupation introduced later once strength has developed. Movement and construction joints are cut or reinstated to manage slab behaviour and limit future edge damage. At handover we review the surface finish and, where necessary, flatness and regularity and provide maintenance and operating guidance specific to the Frome facility and its expected duty.
Why Choose Us
The reliability of an industrial floor overlay is dictated by how well it bonds to the base slab. In Frome units we place particular emphasis on mechanical preparation and profiling, removing weak or contaminated material and providing a suitable key for primers and bonding agents. This approach helps to prevent debonding, blistering and edge failures and supports composite behaviour between slab and overlay under repeated forklift and pallet truck movements.
Many Frome businesses operate within tight delivery windows linked to routes towards Bath, Warminster and the A361. We plan resurfacing works around these constraints, using phased work areas, temporary routes and, where required, night or weekend working. By combining this with suitable rapid curing overlay systems, we can hand back sections of floor in stages while still allowing for the surface preparation and curing periods needed for a durable industrial floor overlay.
Full slab replacement is disruptive and capital intensive, particularly where racking, services and plant are already installed. Resurfacing allows the existing concrete structure to remain in place where it is sound, while renewing the wearing surface with a system designed for abrasion, impact and smooth running. For operators around Frome this can extend the practical life of the floor, reduce reactive patch repairs and support more predictable maintenance planning.
