Warehouse Floor Resurfacing Portishead
We provide warehouse floor resurfacing and industrial overlay systems across Portishead and North Somerset. Existing concrete slabs in logistics, storage and marine-linked facilities are refurbished using bonded self levelling compounds, polymer modified cementitious overlays and resin finishes, selected to improve levelness, durability and day to day operating performance.
20 +
Years
Experience in Concrete Flooring
Our Portishead resurfacing teams work around Portishead Business Park on Old Mill Road, Harbour Road industrial areas, Kestrel Court, Gordano Gate Business Park and nearby sites linked to the M5 and Royal Portbury Dock. Projects range from compact last mile units to larger distribution and engineering sheds where floor condition, joint performance and surface regularity have a direct impact on materials handling equipment and throughput.
Our Expertise
Our Process
STEP 1
We start by reviewing the existing concrete slab, identifying cracking, joint breakdown, impact damage around racking and any delamination or surface wear. Coastal and long serving units around Harbour Road and Old Mill Road often contain multiple historic repairs and coatings, so we remove weak material and incompatible finishes before reinstating defects. The slab is then mechanically prepared using grinding, shot blasting and diamond tooling to establish a clean, profiled surface suitable for a bonded warehouse floor overlay.
STEP 2
Once preparation is complete we install the specified overlay system. Options include polymer modified cementitious toppings, cement based self levelling compounds and resin finishes for areas where smooth running or chemical resistance is required. Overlay thickness and flow are controlled to reduce local undulations, improve regularity through racking aisles and marshalling areas and provide predictable running conditions for forklifts and pallet trucks in Portishead warehouses and industrial units.
STEP 3
After installation the overlay is cured in line with manufacturer requirements and the agreed programme. On suitable schemes, fast track systems can permit controlled light use in roughly 24 to 48 hours, with heavier loads and racking introduced once strength and hardness targets have been achieved. Movement and construction joints are cut or reinstated to work with the slab and traffic pattern. We then hand the floor back with guidance on maintenance, cleaning and operating practices appropriate to the Portishead facility.
Why Choose Us
Long term overlay performance depends on how well it bonds to the existing slab. In Portishead units, particularly those close to the marina or with older coatings, we pay close attention to moisture, contamination and surface profile. By combining mechanical preparation with appropriate primers and bonding agents we help create a composite floor build up that remains stable under daily forklift and pallet truck movements.
Many Portishead facilities support regional distribution via junction 19 of the M5 and links towards Avonmouth and Bristol. We plan resurfacing around delivery windows, trunking schedules and seasonal peaks, using phased areas, temporary traffic arrangements and, where appropriate, night or weekend working. This approach helps maintain output while still allowing adequate time for the preparation and curing that an industrial floor overlay requires.
Breaking out and replacing a slab is disruptive and capital intensive, especially in occupied units with fitted racking and services. Resurfacing keeps the structural concrete in place where it is sound while renewing the wearing surface with an overlay suited to the site. For Portishead operators this can extend floor life, reduce reactive repairs and provide a more predictable maintenance profile over time.
Portishead and Surrounding Areas
We carry out warehouse floor resurfacing and industrial overlay works across Portishead and nearby centres, supporting logistics, engineering and storage facilities from the marina and Harbour Road estates through to sites linked with the M5 and Royal Portbury Dock.
